Community First Statement
The Eddie Betts Foundation is dedicated to prioritising the needs of the community. We recognise that Traditional Owners, Elders, Aunties, and Uncles hold valuable knowledge, stories, history, and cultural practices of their Countries and Communities. Thus, we commit to consulting with their knowledge and expertise in all decision-making and program implementation.
We guarantee that all our staff is culturally aware and competent to ensure that the Community is culturally safe. Our non-Indigenous staff has undergone extensive cultural awareness programs to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Moreover, all our staff members have relevant working with children checks and must adhere to our child safety plan. Our strict adherence to these standards guarantees that we provide the highest level of care and respect to young people.
